Strength and resilience; lotus is a plant with a powerful message. Raising again every day from muddy waters it shows the way to overcome struggles, sending the message that no matter starting position there could be growth. And victory! The flower is stretching upwards and above the surface, with strength and beauty. The lotus has been a reminder and symbol in my life for many years.To me it is a symbol of not letting cirumstances of any kind define who I am, what I can do and not giving up. It´s a witness of the possibility of change to the better. Of starting again over and and over again. The quiet witness of silent resistance. The vibrant statement of resilience. That´s why I chose to have it present in my blog-theme.

This piece of glassart was a gift to ourselves on our 30th wedding anniversary. The blue colors are so vibrant, they give the impression of movement in water when the sun is shining through. Below there are som pics from one of my favorite gardens, water lilies a cousin to the lotus. As with sunflowers, I can´t have enough!
