As a psychologist currently working in the field of education, I have a few thoughts a want to share with you today. What is more important than giving children the best start in life? Health and education goes hand in hand. It provides growth and experiences that are vital for every human being. This is well proven though an abundance of studies. It´s an antidote towards all kind of destructive ideologies: extremism, secterianism, fascism and other forms of human selfharm.

Good education is also the foundation and protection of any democratic nation, based on common values and a sense of shared community and equal responsibilities and participation. Without a functional educational system any nation can loose track.

Overlooking the village, situated on a hilltop, is one of my schools. Facing towards the ocean in the horizon, but actually very close below. Long lines and perspectives outside the school, eyes reaching for the world outside. Seeing new things. Exiting discoveries. Looking into the future. And creating the future. Education is preparation for something new, unknown, a developmental journey.

Without education our perspective of ourselves, society and future become short, narrowsighted and most certainly tilted or dangerously wrong. I strongly defend everyones right to the truth, as we know it today through science and human experience. I work daily to help individuals as well as communities in this direction.

In my daily life as a psychologist working with children and teenagers, in the context of school and eduction, I try to promote the best possible outline for everyone, reducing obstacles and building on strengths. I acknowledge every child´s right for best possible conditions early in life, through safe relations, good healthcare and high quality education.
